- State Rep. Jake Wheatley, D-Allegheny County, has been ordered to attend an anger management course following a polling place altercation in May. Wheatley was accused of pushing a campaign worker for an opponent’s campaign. Wheatley’s campaign said he was “verbally taunted” by the campaign worker before confronting the individual. (WPXI)
- Ambridge’s suspended police chief has been charged with felonies related to theft and witness intimidation. In the criminal complaint, state police said Chief James Mann threatened and intimated many police officers under his watch, with 10 officers reporting threats and harassment. (Beaver County Times)
- A woman’s year-long social media investigation uncovered a suspected puppy mill in Washington County. Amelia Breitenbach said she suspected something was amiss when she started noticing a large amount of German short haired pointers showing up in the social media posts of area residents. She got the attention of local law enforcement, which this week seized as many as 100 dogs from the property. (WTAE)
